The Brunswick Ballmaster Open continued on Wednesday with two more qualification squads bowled at Tali Bowling Hall.

Squads 9 and 10 added further depth to the standings as several players delivered strong six-game blocks.

Squad 9 saw Sweden’s Adam Andersson post the top score of the session. Andersson finished with a total of 1,395 pins over six games, highlighted by a 270 in the fifth game. Finland’s Ani Juntunen followed in second place with 1,368, while Lukáš Jelínek of the Czech Republic placed third at 1,357.

Tomas Käyhkö recorded the fourth-best score in Squad 9 with 1,333. Dan Agerbo Østergaard finished close behind at 1,331. Brandon Bohn of the United States continued his consistent qualification run with a score of 1,330, followed by Finland’s Niko Oksanen at 1,329 and Patrik Paivio at 1,327. Ben Robinson of England placed ninth with 1,321, while Mark Jacobs of the Netherlands rounded out the top ten with 1,320.

Performance of the Day in Squad 10

The evening session, Squad 10, produced the highest score of the day. Magnus Haram Mittet from Norway led the squad with a six-game total of 1,414, the best result across both Wednesday sessions. This performance led him all the way to the third overall position, having only Joonas Jehkinen and Mika Koivuniemi in front of him.

Tomas Käyhkö returned to the lanes and delivered another strong block, finishing second with a total of 1,357. The result moved him into 16th place in the overall standings. Brandon Bohn placed third in Squad 10 with 1,347. He is currently in 18th position.

Sweden’s Karl Wahlgren followed with 1,336, while Denmark’s Karen Kærgaard Nielsen posted 1,319 to take fifth place.

The rest of the Squad 10 top ten included Luukas Väänänen with 1,316, Juho Rissanen at 1,313, and Robin Miklas of Estonia with 1,306. Iceland’s Arnar Jonsson finished ninth with 1,305, while Jussi Laine completed the top ten with 1,298.

The Brunswick Ballmaster Open continues on Thursday with three more qualification squads scheduled starting at 10AM local.

18 squads will be played thoughout qualification. The tournament runs from January 2 to January 11.

After the qualification rounds, 48 bowlers will advance to the finals. The top 38 players in the overall standings will qualify directly, while the remaining 10 places will be decided through additional qualification paths - early bird and desperado.
