The Swedish Elitserien delivered another thrilling weekend packed with intense matchups, surprise victories, and playoff-shifting results. As the race for the playoffs heats up, teams are battling fiercely for crucial points. Here’s a full recap of the action from Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday Matches Overview

BKF Falkenberg pulled off a stunning victory against league leaders Team Pergamon, despite missing key players. Meanwhile, Bodens BS secured a crucial home win against Sundbybergs IK, climbing into the fourth and final playoff spot at the expense of Team Alingsås, who suffered double losses in Skåne.

Västerås SK - Stureby BK 12-8

Despite a stellar performance from Stureby’s Marcus Tidbeck (992 over four games), Västerås SK secured an important home win, keeping their hopes of climbing out of the relegation zone alive. Västerås SK started the match with a narrow 2-3 loss in game one but recovered in the second, winning 4-1. The third game again went to the visitors (2-3), but the home team showed more consistency in the final game, winning 4-1. Eric Nordström (984) and Joakim Stål (972) shone for the home side.

IS Göta - Team Alingsås 11-9

Helsingborg's IS Göta edged out Team Alingsås in the tightest match on Saturday. The visitors started strong, taking an early 1-4 lead, but IS Göta responded with a stunning 1911 series, claiming a 5-0 win in game two to shift momentum. Team Alingsås bounced back with a 2-3 victory in game three, cutting the deficit to just one point. However, the home team held firm in the final game, securing a 3-2 win. Rasmus Edvall (985) led IS Göta, while James Blomgren (936) was the top performer for Team Alingsås.

BKF Falkenberg - Team Pergamon 12-8

Playing without some key players, league leaders Team Pergamon suffered an away loss against BKF Falkenberg. Falkenberg dominated the first two series, leading 7-3, but Pergamon fought back in the third, closing the gap to 8-7. However, Falkenberg held their nerve, winning the final series 4-1 to secure a 12-8 victory. Hampus Nilsson (959) and Oscar Svensson (942) led the home team, while Timmie Ahl (898) was the best performer for Team Pergamon.

Bodens BS - Sundbybergs IK 13-7

Bodens BS continued their impressive form with a 13-7 victory over Sundbybergs IK. Despite missing star player Adam Andersson, Boden overcame an early 6-4 deficit and dominated the second half, outscoring Sundbyberg 9-1. Ludwig Ingerskog (967) and Emil Holmberg (898) led the home team, while Filip Thelander (888) was the top performer for Sundbybergs.

IKW/Köping BK - Stureby BK 15-4

It was a tough weekend for Stureby, as after their morning loss to Västerås SK, they suffered another defeat against IKW/Köping. The home team led from start to finish, winning all four matches and securing a dominant 15-4 victory with a total score of 7283. Ossian Kinnari led the charge with 1006, while Carl Eklund followed closely with 994. Marcus Tidbeck (997) was the top scorer for Stureby.

BK Full House - Team Alingsås BC 13-7

Team Alingsås endured a rough weekend, losing both to IS Göta (11-9) and then to BK Full House (13-7). Despite taking the first game 2-3, BK Full House proved too strong, dominating the final three series to secure a comfortable victory. Tim Stampe led the winners with 909, while Emanuel Jonsson was the best performer for Alingsås.

Two matches took place in the men's Elitserien on Sunday.

Team Clan Nässjö BK - Team Pergamon BC 11-9

In a highly anticipated showdown, Team Clan Nässjö BK dethroned reigning champions Team Pergamon, securing an 11-9 victory in a thrilling contest. Both teams were missing key players due to travel commitments for WSOB XVI, making for an evenly matched battle. Clan started strong with an 1866 series but held only a narrow 3-2 lead. Pergamon responded with a dominant 4-1 second series, taking a 6-4 advantage. The match remained tight, with Clan edging ahead 8-7 before a dramatic final series.

Clan sealed the win with a clutch performance in the final frames, winning the last series 3-2 and securing total pinfall by just 16 pins (1818-1802). Kevin Lindbladh led the home team with 987.

With the victory, Clan extends their unbeaten streak since mid-October and now leads the league standings despite playing fewer matches than Pergamon.

BK Kaskad - IKW/Köping BK SK 14-6

Third-placed BK Kaskad secured a solid victory over playoff-chasing IKW/Köping BK. Kaskad took control early, leading 10-4 before the final series, and sealed the deal with another 4-1 win to finish 14-6. Emil Ågren led the team with a total of 934, while Victor Danielsson was the best performer for the visiting team with 893.

Juho Vuoppola Wins Berlin City Open 2025

Juho Vuoppola from Finland won the Berlin City Open 2025 on Sunday evening at City Bowling Hasenheide in Berlin, Germany. The Finnish bowler secured the title by defeating Germany’s Laura Beuthner in a two-game final with a total score of 494 to 435.Vuoppola took the lead early in the final match with a strong 269–234 victory in the first game. He followed up with a 225–215 win in the second game, sealing the overall result in his favor. To reach the final, Vuoppola defeated Lukáš Jelínek from the Czech Republic 424-369 (232-176, 192-193) in the semifinal round. On the other side of the bracket, Laura Beuthner advanced to the final after beating fellow German bowler Paul Purps 436-430 (195-238, 225-192). The 2025 PBA Sweden tour continues this August as the third stop, the PBA Sweden Badger Stockholm Open, heads to New Bowl Center Gullmarsplan from August 8 to 10. This event follows two exciting tournaments in Jönköping and Eskilstuna that kicked off the four-part series. At the opening stop in February, Pontus Andersson took home the title at the Chameleon Jönköping Open. He delivered a dominant performance in the stepladder finals, defeating Albin Lindberg 258–199. With this win, Andersson earned an international invitation to the 2026 PBA World Series of Bowling and secured a place in Final Step 1 of the 2025 Storm Lucky Larsen Masters. Robin Ilhammar Wins 10th Brunswick Madrid Challenge in Spain

Sweden’s Robin Ilhammar continued his incredible summer run by winning the 10th Brunswick Madrid Challenge, held July 5–13, 2025, in Madrid, Spain.Ilhammar defeated Czech Republic’s Lukáš Jelínek 245–222 in the final match to secure the title, adding to his recent victories at the IBF World Cup and the European Men’s Championships Masters event. At the end of May, Ilhammar also won the Kegel Aalborg International Open in Denmark. There, Ilhammar delivered four consistent and high-scoring games - 258, 252, 256, and 237 - to claim the top seed for the stepladder finals. Earlier in the semifinal, Lukáš Jelínek edged out Spain’s Michael Piccari 214–211 before facing Ilhammar in the championship match. Endrina Bracuto of Venezuela won the women's competition.
