The Swedish Elitserien returned after the Christmas break, offering plenty of exciting bowling across Sweden. Nine games were played over the weekend, with six on Saturday and three on Sunday. With so much action, some unexpected results were bound to happen.

Saturday Matches Overview

Stureby BK – Sundbybergs IK 11-9

Stureby BK won a close match against Sundbybergs IK. The match was tied 8-7 before the final series, but Stureby won 4-1 in the last series to secure an 11-9 victory. Marcus Tidbeck was Stureby’s top scorer with 1006 (257, 248, 233, 268). In Sundbyberg, Gustavo Layrisse Montiel scored 934 (203, 237, 268, 226).

BKF Falkenberg – Team Clan Nässjö 8-12

After exchanging wins in every other series, it was Team Clan Nässjö who took victory over BKF Falkenberg. Clan won the second and last series 5-0, while Falkenberg won the first and third series 4-1. Anton Ahlgren was Clan’s best with 914 total (222, 256, 213, 223). Dennis Johansson scored 906 (234, 234, 238, 200) for Falkenberg .

Bodens BS – BK Kaskad 8-12

BK Kaskad started their tough three-game weekend with a win on Saturday. They overcame a small deficit after three series, turning the game around in the fourth series with a strong performance. Kaskad led 7-3 at halftime, but Boden gained the advantage with a 5-0 win in the third series, moving ahead 8-7. Kaskad finished with a strong 1801 to take the win. Both teams had a top player scoring 988, with Kaskad’s Luukas Väänänen (279, 248, 213, 248) and Boden’s Philip Strandgren (238, 243, 254, 253) leading their teams.

BK Full House – IS Göta 14-6

In the Skåne derby, BK Full House defeated IS Göta with a strong performance in the final series. After Göta won the second series 4-1, Full House gained a 9-6 lead after three series. They sealed the win with a dominant 5-0 finish in the final series, scoring 1878 to Göta’s 1583. Kim Andersson led Full House with 931 (221, 255, 200, 255).

Västerås SK – IKW/Köping BK 8-12

IKW/Köping BK won against Västerås SK after a strong start. Köping took a 5-0 lead in the first series, and despite Västerås’ comeback in the second series, Köping won the final two series to seal a 12-8 victory. Carl Eklund led Köping with 988 total (235, 247, 256, 243.

Team Pergamon – Team Alingsås BC 13-7

League-leading Team Pergamon defeated Team Alingsås in a real strike feast. The match was tied 5-5 after the first half, but Pergamon pulled ahead with strong performances in the second half, winning the match with the final result of 13-7. Tobias Hogdin led his team to victory, scoring 1040 total for Pergamon (279, 248, 279, 234).

Sunday Matches Overview

Three matches took place in the men's Elitserien on Sunday.

Stureby BK – BK Kaskad 11-9

Stureby BK managed to defeat BK Kaskad thanks to a strong start in the first two series, leading 8-2 at halftime. Despite Kaskad's efforts in the third series, winning 4-1, Stureby held on in the last series and won 11-9. Stureby’s Tommy Wendel scored the highest in the match with 1010 total (268, 217, 278, 247), while Kaskad’s Emil Ågren scored exactly 1000 total (247, 249, 258, 246).

IS Göta – Team Clan Nässjö BK 7-13

IS Göta struggled this weekend, losing to Clan after Saturday’s defeat to Full House. Though Göta started strong with a 3-2 lead in the first series, Clan quickly equalized and then won the last two series to finish 13-7. Clan’s Pontus Andersson scored 1005 (264, 289, 204, 248) to lead the team, while Anton Ahlgren achieved 300 in the first series. Martin Paulsson of IS Göta was best in his team with 971 total (265, 256, 258, 192).

Sundbybergs IK – BK Kaskad 6-14

In the afternoon match, Kaskad bounced back after morning's defeat with a solid win over Sundbyberg. Kaskad led 8-2 at halftime and despite a dip in the third series, they finished strong, winning the last series 5-0 with 1916 points. Teodor Samuelsson scored a perfect 300 in the final series, adding a nice finish to his team's overall success. As in Saturday's match against Bodens BS, Kaskad’s Luukas Väänänen led his team to victory again, with 923 total (241, 244, 204, 234).

Juho Vuoppola Wins Berlin City Open 2025

Juho Vuoppola from Finland won the Berlin City Open 2025 on Sunday evening at City Bowling Hasenheide in Berlin, Germany. The Finnish bowler secured the title by defeating Germany’s Laura Beuthner in a two-game final with a total score of 494 to 435.Vuoppola took the lead early in the final match with a strong 269–234 victory in the first game. He followed up with a 225–215 win in the second game, sealing the overall result in his favor. To reach the final, Vuoppola defeated Lukáš Jelínek from the Czech Republic 424-369 (232-176, 192-193) in the semifinal round. On the other side of the bracket, Laura Beuthner advanced to the final after beating fellow German bowler Paul Purps 436-430 (195-238, 225-192). The 2025 PBA Sweden tour continues this August as the third stop, the PBA Sweden Badger Stockholm Open, heads to New Bowl Center Gullmarsplan from August 8 to 10. This event follows two exciting tournaments in Jönköping and Eskilstuna that kicked off the four-part series. At the opening stop in February, Pontus Andersson took home the title at the Chameleon Jönköping Open. He delivered a dominant performance in the stepladder finals, defeating Albin Lindberg 258–199. With this win, Andersson earned an international invitation to the 2026 PBA World Series of Bowling and secured a place in Final Step 1 of the 2025 Storm Lucky Larsen Masters. Robin Ilhammar Wins 10th Brunswick Madrid Challenge in Spain

Sweden’s Robin Ilhammar continued his incredible summer run by winning the 10th Brunswick Madrid Challenge, held July 5–13, 2025, in Madrid, Spain.Ilhammar defeated Czech Republic’s Lukáš Jelínek 245–222 in the final match to secure the title, adding to his recent victories at the IBF World Cup and the European Men’s Championships Masters event. At the end of May, Ilhammar also won the Kegel Aalborg International Open in Denmark. Earlier in the semifinal, Lukáš Jelínek edged out Spain’s Michael Piccari 214–211 before facing Ilhammar in the championship match. Endrina Bracuto of Venezuela won the women's competition.
