The biggest Icelandic bowling tournament, the Reykjavik International Games (RIG), will begin tomorrow, February 1, in Reykjavik. This year, the tournament is part of the European Bowling Tour (EBT) as a satellite event.
The competition will run for a week, concluding on Sunday, February 9. Bowlers from different categories will compete in a structured qualification and final format. The qualifying round will consist of six series. Based on the results, 24 bowlers will qualify directly for the final. In addition to these 24, 12 other bowlers will secure a place through specific qualifying criteria based on performance in Early Bird and different age categories.
The final round will consist of five stages. The first four stages follow a step-ladder format, with three sets played in each round. In the final stage, four bowlers will compete in a three-set match. After each set, the player with the lowest score will be eliminated. This process continues until the last bowler remains, determining the tournament champion.
The Reykjavik Games 2025 will bring together top competitors, offering a week of high-level bowling action in Iceland’s capital.
RIG Bowling 2025 was a part of Reykjavik International Games - a multi sport event in more than 20 different sports.
