The tournament format will be similar to last year’s PWBA Summer Series, where Stephanie Zavala claimed her sixth PWBA title at the Cleveland Open, while Singapore’s New Hui Fen won the other two events and later secured the PWBA Player of the Year award.

This year, New enters the PWBA Summer Series as one of the main names to watch again. She won the PWBA Northern Colorado Open, finished second at the PWBA Bowlers Journal Rockford Open, and placed third at the 2026 USBC Queens.

The first tournament of the week will be the PWBA Rochester Open on May 27 and 28. Players will bowl two six-game qualifying rounds on May 27. The first round starts at 10 a.m. ET, and the second round is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.

After qualifying, the top 16 players will advance to match play on May 28. The Round of 16 and Round of 8 will use a best-of-five format. The semifinal and final matches will then move to one-game matches, starting at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The top 12 will move into round-robin match play on May 30, with blocks starting at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. ET. After match play, the top five players will advance to the stepladder finals. The finals are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.

The final event of the PWBA Summer Series will be the Lilac City Open, which starts on May 31. The event will also begin with two qualifying rounds at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET. The top 24 players will move into match play on June 1. The top eight players will receive a first-round bye.

All matches in the Lilac City Open bracket will use a best-of-three format before the stepladder finals. After the Round of 8, the four winners and the highest-seeded losing player will advance to the stepladder, which is set to start at 6:30 p.m. ET.
