PWBA Responds to Amplify’s Claims: "We Are Very Disappointed This Company Is Attacking the PWBA"

In response to Amplify My Training’s claim that the Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) rejected its proposal to provide Certified Athletic Trainers (ATCs) at 2025 PWBA Tour stops, Jason Overstreet, Deputy Executive Director of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC), has provided clarification.

Overstreet stated that Amplify’s claim was inaccurate, emphasizing that PWBA did not reject the presence of athletic trainers outright. Instead, he cited compliance, insurance, and risk management concerns as the reason for not permitting third-party services inside host centers.

"We are aware of the statement from Amplify My Training claiming that PWBA does not want athletic trainers as part of the PWBA Tour. This is not true and not what PWBA told them. From a SafeSport compliance, insurance, and risk management perspective, it’s not as reasonable as it might seem for PWBA to have a third party offer these services in the host centers we rent," Overstreet explained.

He added that PWBA had encouraged Amplify to offer their services at a nearby location, allowing players to access treatment without violating policies.

"PWBA encouraged Amplify to offer services at a location nearby so PWBA players could have access. We are very disappointed this company is attacking the PWBA with false statements," he stated.

Amplify My Training Responds

Eight hours after its initial Facebook post, where the controversy first surfaced, Amplify My Training updated its stance with a comment:

"We want to take a moment to address the recent conversations surrounding our last post. We were contacted directly by the USBC Executive Director, who shared that he was not previously aware of our request prior to its publication. We’re thankful that it has now reached his attention and appreciate the time he took to speak with us and acknowledge our efforts. While we respectfully agree to disagree with the decision to decline our offer, we’re encouraged by his support for us providing these services off-site moving forward. Our focus remains on serving the bowling community in the best way possible, and we appreciate everyone’s continued support and passion."

Looking Ahead

With the situation now clarified, the focus shifts back to the lanes as the PWBA gears up for its highly anticipated 2025 season. The tour kicks off on May 8th with the PWBA Go Bowling Topeka Open, promising another exciting year of elite competition.
