France Wins Mixed Doubles Gold at the 2025 European Championship of Champions

The second and final squad of the Mixed Doubles event has wrapped up at the 2025 European Championship of Champions in Vienna, producing an exciting finish and crowning this year’s Doubles medal winners. After Squad 2 of the Mixed Doubles event, France’s Maxime Dubois and Solene Goron claimed the gold medal with a total score of 3812 and a 238.2 average.

Dubois led the team with 2054 and a 256.8 average, while Goron contributed 1758 at 219.8. Their combined consistency and scoring power secured France the top podium position.

Sweden’s Teodor Samuelsson and Josefin Hermansson took the silver medal after finishing second with 3742 and a 233.9 average. Samuelsson rolled 2018 with a 252.2 average, including a perfect 300 in Game 6, while Hermansson added 1724.

The bronze medal went to Czech Republic’s Lukas Jelinek and Ema Iwazawa, who finished third overall with 3696 and a 231.0 average. Jelinek posted one of the highest individual totals of the event with 2071 at 258.9, supported by Iwazawa’s 1625.

Germany’s Paul Purps and Laura Beuthner narrowly missed the podium in fourth with 3691, followed by England, Finland, Slovenia, Belgium, Slovakia, and Norway completing the top ten. Paul Purps also scored a perfect game during Squad 2, with an amazing messenger in the last shot.



Updated Singles Standings After 16 Games

With two qualifying blocks completed, the singles standings have also tightened heading into the final stage. Only the top 12 athletes after 24 games will advance to Saturday’s Finals, making tomorrow’s final block crucial.

Men's Division

In the men’s division, Sweden’s Teodor Samuelsson continues to lead with a total of 4040 and a 252.5 average, followed by France’s Maxime Dubois with 3999 and Czech Republic’s Lukas Jelinek close behind at 3986. France’s Gaetan Mouveroux (3838) and Germany’s Paul Purps (3829) complete the top five. Also in the current top 12 are Croatia’s Vedran Barunčić, Malta’s Nicolai Mallia, Türkiye’s Tuna Böncü, England’s Mark Patrick, Denmark’s Anders Tausø Christensen, Slovakia’s Simon Jaros, and Belgium’s Ben Aerts.

Women's Division

In the women’s division, Germany’s Laura Beuthner maintains her lead with 3541 and a 221.3 average, just two pins ahead of Norway’s Jenny Mathiesen at 3539. England’s Hayley Russell sits in third with 3526, followed by France’s Solene Goron (3504) and the Netherlands’ Samantha Greiner (3440). The rest of the current top 12 include Finland’s Emma Palermaa, Slovakia’s Kristina Sramkova, Czech Republic’s Ema Iwazawa, Slovenia’s Eva Krafogel, Sweden’s Josefin Hermansson, Denmark’s Karen Kærgaard Nielsen, and Belgium’s Stéphanie Nicolas.


What’s Next

The final qualifying block of the 2025 European Championship of Champions will take place tomorrow at Plus Bowling Center. Both the men and women will complete their 24 qualifying games, after which the top 12 in each division will advance to the Finals on Saturday, October 25.
