The Brunswick Ballmaster Open qualification continued on Friday with Squads 14 and 15 completed at Tali Bowling Center in Helsinki.
Strong scoring across both squads reshaped the top of the standings, with a new leader emerging midway through the day with one more squsd still scheduled for today.
Squad 14 Recap
Squad 14 saw Estonia’s Ülari Lees deliver the top performance of the block. Lees totaled 1,466 over six games, highlighted by a strong closing stretch that included a 278 in the final game.
Sweden’s William Dahlsten followed in second place with 1,405, while Carl Eklund posted 1,398 to finish third.

The rest of the Squad 14 top ten included Killian Ecoffey (1,361), Nicole Layrisse (1,360), Paul Purps (1,357), Italy's Walter Alessandro Santu (1,354), and Richard Teece (1,348).
Squad 15 Recap
Scoring went even higher in Squad 15, where Sweden’s Emanuel Jonsson produced the highest series of the tournament so far. Jonsson posted an impressive 1,495, averaging over 249 for the six-game block and immediately moving into the overall lead.
Denmark’s Mikkel Sørensen finished second in the squad with 1,452, followed by Tomas Käyhkö of Finland at 1,440.

Also finishing inside the top ten were Filip Wilhelmsson (1,403), Lucas Fjällborg (1,401), Anton Andersson (1,393), Victor Gundersen (1,391), and Pontus Andersson (1,389).
After 15 of 18 qualification squads, the overall standings saw notable movement at the top.
Emanuel Jonsson now leads the field with 1,495, followed closely by William Svensson at 1,473. Finland’s Niko Oksanen sits third with 1,468, while Ülari Lees moves into fourth at 1,466.

With three qualification squads still to be played later on Friday and
Saturday, the race for the finals remains wide open.
The tournament runs from January 2 to
January 11.
After the qualification rounds, 48 bowlers will advance to the finals. The top 38 players in the overall standings will qualify directly, while the remaining 10 places will be decided through additional qualification paths - early bird and desperado.
