The qualification stage at the Brunswick Ballmaster Open is nearing its conclusion, as Squad 17 was completed on Saturday at Tali Bowling Hall. With only one squad left to play, the fight for final positions remains wide open heading into the last qualifying block.
Squad 17 delivered another round of high-level scoring, led by Sweden’s Elliot Moulin, who topped the squad with a strong 1414 total over six games. He was followed closely by Denmark's Jonas Dons on 1413, while Parker Bohn III finished third with a 1403 series. Finland’s Karo Hilokoski stayed right in the mix as well, finishing fourth on 1401.
Just behind the 1400 mark, Carsten Hansen posted 1394, with Robin Ilhammar next on 1367. Markus Heinonen, Onni Riikonen, and Bjørn Saksager Jensen all stayed close, while Emma Halttunen rounded out the top ten.
After seventeen squads, Sweden’s Jesper Svensson and Emanuel Jonsson remains
at the top of the overall standings with a 1495 total.

The current top 16 players in the standings would get an automatic bye into
Final Step 2, which is scheduled for tomorrow.
The remaining 32 advancing spots (early bird, desperado, and overall
standings) will get back on the lanes for the Final Step 1. Six games are
scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM local time later today.
At the
moment, the cut line sits at 1389, shared by Sweden’s Pontus Andersson and
Finland’s Santtu Tahvanainen.
Players who fail to advance through overall standings and early bird, will still have one last opportunity to move on, as the top three finishers in the one-game desperado, also scheduled for later today, will earn a place in the next stage of competition.
The qualification stage now continues with Squad 18. With margins still tight across the field, every pin in the final squad is will matter.
