The grueling journey to the TV finals is complete at the PBA Indiana Classic. After 36 games on the 39-foot Mike Aulby pattern, only five men remain standing.
The story of Friday’s elimination rounds was absolute dominance by Boog Krol.
Krol moved into Friday’s elimination rounds in 11th place, more than 200 pins behind the leader (Ryan Barnes at that time). But that’s when he found another gear. He opened the Round of 32 with a strong 1,506 six-game block, jumping up to fourth place. Then he took it even further in the Round of 16, firing an impressive 1,557 series, averaging 259.5.
That furious closing sprint - averaging over 255 for his final 12 games - allowed Krol to vault all the way to the number one seed for Sunday's stepladder finals, finishing with a massive 8,765 pinfall (+1565).
As the top seed, Krol is now just one game away from his third PBA Tour title.

Boog Krol's Friday Surge
Krol shot a staggering 3,063 total for his final 12 games to steal the #1 overall seed.
Sitting right behind him in the number two seed is Marshall Kent.
Kent was arguably the most consistent player of the entire 36-game marathon. He never had a bad block and quietly grinded his way to an 8,741 total.
Malaysia's bowling superstar Timmy Tan claimed the third seed for the TV show.
He hung tough during the middle blocks of the tournament and found his best look when it mattered most, averaging over 243 during Friday's elimination rounds to safely punch his ticket to the stepladder finals with an 8,689 total.
The story of the tournament leader through the first 24 games, Ryan Barnes, took a dramatic turn on Friday.
Barnes built a massive lead early on, but he struggled significantly during the final two blocks, shooting 1,374 and 1,394 - his lowest totals of the week. However, the cushion he built during qualifying saved him. He held on by his fingernails to secure the fourth seed with an 8,678 total.
