The PBA Hall of Famer Tom Hess is heading to Europe to compete in two of the continent’s biggest open tournaments.
His trip will include the Brunswick Euro Challenge in Aalborg, Denmark, which is making it's comeback to the European bowling schedule after two years hiatus, followed by the International Hammer Challenge at Tali Bowl in Helsinki, Finland.
Hess makes the trip after finishing second to Chris Barnes in the 2026 PBA50
Player of the Year race.
He won three national titles during the season: the
PBA50 Petraglia Championship,
PBA Senior U.S. Open
and
PBA50 Akron Classic.
The Senior U.S. Open gave him his fifth PBA50 major, while the Akron victory
raised his career total to 14 PBA50 titles, tying him for second on the
all-time list.
The Brunswick Euro Challenge is already underway at Løvvang Bowling Center and runs from Aug. 8-16. Bowlers can check the remaining squad availability and complete their entry through the tournament’s official BowlPass registration page.
The International Hammer Challenge follows from Aug. 14-23 at Tali Bowl. Players who want to join the field can view available squads and register directly through the event’s Bowl4U page.
