The competition at the European Senior Bowling Championships 2025 reached full scale today, with the first set of medals awarded in the Men's Singles event.
Sweden's Peter Hellström claimed the gold medal by defeating Germany's Bodo Koniecny 206–191 in the final match.
In the semifinals, Hellström overcame Italy's Marco Reviglio with a score of 207–188, while Germany's Bodo Koniecny defeated compatriot Michael Krämer 233–206. Earlier in the competition, Krämer shattered the Six-Game Singles European Seniors Record with an incredible total of 1,434 pins (225, 257, 248, 258, 268, 178).
The European Senior Bowling Championships 2025 is being held in Leipzig, Germany, from January 24 to February 2, 2025. The championship features four competition categories: Singles, Doubles, Teams, and Masters.
A total of 98 female athletes and 108 male athletes are expected to compete in the event.
