Sandra de Neergaard Triumphs at Merci Ladies Open 2025

PWBA 2019 Fountain Valley Open winner and World champion Sandra de Neergaard claimed victory at the Merci Ladies Open 2025, securing the title after defeating Susanna Kiiskinen in the final. The Queen of Spades bowler avenged her runner-up finish from last year by winning the final match 2-0 in a best-of-three series.
De Neergaard been dominant from the start, finishing third in the qualification round with a total of 1388 points. Alida Molander led the standings with 1427 points, followed by Anneli Blomqvist at 1419 points. 16 bowlers advanced to the final rounds.
During Final Stage 1, de Neergaard posted the highest score with 1415 points across six games. Kiiskinen followed closely with 1377 points, setting up a competitive showdown in the knockout rounds.
In Final Stage 2, de Neergaard won a tight 2-1 match against Janina Lindberg. She then faced fellow Queen of Spades bowler Anna Andersson in the semifinals. After losing the first game 237-289, de Neergaard rebounded with scores of 247-221 and 257-192 to claim victory.
The second semifinal saw Susanna Kiiskinen edge out Eliisa Hiltunen in another three-game battle, winning 248-279, 215-193, 258-202.
De Neergaard carried her momentum into the championship match against Kiiskinen, taking the first game 236-207. She secured the title with a 257-223 win in the second game, becoming the 2025 Merci Ladies Open champion.
"I'm struggling to find words to explain how much this win means to me. Felt mentally and physically strong going into this weekend. Bowled realy great, and the duo (Attention Star S2 Ų Origin) helped me capture the win," Sandra De Neergaard said after the win.
