Pontus Andersson claimed victory at the inaugural Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Sweden event - the PBA Sweden Chameleon Jönköping Open.

In the title match of the stepladder finals, Andersson defeated Albin Lindberg 258-199 to secure the championship.

During qualification, Andersson totaled 1,815 over eight games (214, 238, 237, 237, 232, 225, 201, 231), finishing eighth among the 16 advancers. In the Cashers Round, where players bowled another eight games with half of their qualification total carried over, Andersson scored 2,055 (279, 265, 289, 278, 247, 268, 227, 202), securing the top position and the No. 1 seed for the four-player stepladder finals.

In the first stepladder match, No. 3 seed Joachim Karlsson defeated No. 4 seed Emil Holmberg 258-226 but later fell to tournament runner-up Albin Lindberg 221-233.

With his victory at the PBA Sweden Chameleon Jönköping Open, Andersson earned an international invitation to the 2026 PBA World Series of Bowling (WSOB) with the entry fee covered. Additionally, he secured an automatic spot in Final Step 1 of the 2025 Storm Lucky Larsen Masters.

In January, Andersson clinched the win at the MOTIV AIK International Tournament 2025 and the first European Bowling Tour (EBT) title.

The first stop of PBA Sweden 2025 featured the PBA Chameleon oil pattern, with 80 players competing for the title. The tournament took place over two days, February 1-2, at RC Bowl.

The second stop of PBA Sweden 2025 will be held at Eskilstuna Bowling Center from April 18-19, followed by the third stop at New Bowl Center Gullmarsplan in Stockholm on August 9-10. The series will conclude in Helsingborg with the Storm Lucky Larsen Masters 2025 (SLLM) at Olympia Bowling from August 22-31. SLLM will offer additional points for the overall standings, raising the stakes for players throughout the series. The Eskilstuna and Stockholm PBA Sweden stops will challenge bowlers with the Scorpion and Badger oil patterns, respectively, while the pattern for the Storm Lucky Larsen Masters will be revealed later this year.

Continuing its recent tradition, the Storm Lucky Larsen Masters will also offer bowlers a chance to win a PBA Tour title and secure a spot in the prestigious 2026 PBA Tournament of Champions.
