Johansson entered the semifinals after she finished second overall in the qualification, averaging 225 over 6 games.

In the semifinal, Johansson faced Denmark’s Karen Kaergaard Nielsen. The Danish player had the support of the home crowd, but Johansson took control during the match and won 196-170.

The other semifinal was an all-Finnish match between Sanna Oksanen and Peppi Konsteri. Oksanen won 211-192 to reach the final, while Konsteri took bronze.

In the championship match, Johansson started with four straight strikes and built an early lead. Oksanen could not match the pace, and Johansson stayed in front for the rest of the game.

The 257-179 win gave Johansson another singles gold medal and a strong start to the championship week for Sweden.

The result also continued Johansson’s run at the European Women’s Championship. At the 2024 event, she won four gold medals and reached the podium in all six events.

Oksanen earned silver, which was her first singles medal at the European Women’s Championship. Konsteri also claimed her first European Women’s Championship medal in singles event.

The European Women’s Championship continues Sunday with the doubles event.
