Finland's Markus Lahti has surged to the top of the leaderboard at the 55th Brunswick Ballmaster Open. The talented two-hander became the first player in the tournament to surpass the 1500 mark, amassing a remarkable total of 1523 over six games in Squad 5.
Lahti, the reigning European Youth Championships 2024 Boys Singles Gold Medalist, delivered a stellar performance from the outset. He came close to perfection in game one, scoring 278, and maintained an incredible pace throughout the block. Lahti achieved three more scores above 270, with a 279 in game four, a 277 in game five, and another 279 in game six.
His final three games alone produced a phenomenal 835 series total.
In addition to clinching the Squad 5 winner's award, Lahti received the squad's top youth award, earning a Brunswick line bowling ball from the tournament sponsors.
The competition continues at Tali Bowling Hall, with another squad currently underway. On Monday, two more squads are scheduled, starting at 11 AM.
