The Doubles event at the European Men’s Bowling Championships 2025 wrapped up on Monday night in Aalborg, Denmark, with Finland’s Tomas Käyhkö and Niko Oksanen taking home the gold medal.
The Finnish duo delivered strong performances from start to finish. They topped the qualification phase with 2680 total (223.3 avg.) to earn the No. 1 seed and continued their momentum into the finals.
In the final match, Käyhkö and Oksanen faced France’s Gaëtan Mouveroux and Valentin Saulnier. The Finnish pair stayed steady through all twelve frames, closing with a combined score of 434–409 to win the title.

Earlier in the semifinals, Käyhkö and Oksanen advanced by defeating the French team of Enzo Franco and Maxime Dubois, 430–406. Mouveroux and Saulnier secured their spot in the final by beating Italy’s Erik Davolio and Singles champion Antonino Fiorentino.
Bronze medals went to both semifinalist teams: France’s Franco and Dubois, and Italy’s Davolio and Fiorentino.
So far at this year’s championships, all medals in both Singles and Doubles have been claimed by just three countries — Finland, France, and Italy — setting the tone for a tight race in the days ahead.
The competition continues on Tuesday with the start of the 3-man team event. Players will bowl three games on Tuesday and three more on Wednesday, followed by semifinals and finals on Wednesday evening.
