Jenny Wegner is retiring from the Swedish national team, the Swedish Bowling Association announced Friday.

“It has been an honor to wear the Swedish national team jersey,” Wegner said to the media.

The 32-year-old also shared that family and other priorities will now take a bigger place in her life.

Wegner first represented Sweden at the 2010 Junior European Championships in St. Maximin, France, where she won four gold medals. She made her senior championship debut at the 2014 European Championships in Berlin.

At senior level, Wegner won three World Championship medals and 16 European Championship medals, including six European golds. One of the biggest moments of her career came in 2019, when she and Josefin Hermansson won the World Championship doubles title in Las Vegas.

Wegner was also part of Sweden’s team victory at the 2022 World Cup in Australia. Earlier that year, she earned a medal in all six events at the European Championships in Aalborg, including gold in trios.

Wegner also won the Swedish Elite Championship three times, most recently in 2024.

The Swedish Bowling Association will honor Wegner at 4 p.m. Saturday during the Storm Lucky Larsen Masters in Helsingborg.
