The International Bowling Federation has postponed the 2026 Para Bowling World Championships that were scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand.
BowlingLife has obtained a letter sent to member federations by IBF President Sheikh Talal M. Al Sabah, confirming the decision.
As outlined in the letter, the event, originally planned for April 29 to May 10 at Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl in Siam Paragon, will not be held as scheduled.
According to IBF president, the decision was made due to the current global situation and increasing uncertainty surrounding international travel.
The IBF pointed to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East as a key factor behind the decision. Recent developments in the region have created instability that may affect airline operations, travel safety, and overall logistics for international events.
In the letter, the IBF president highlighted concerns about potential airspace limitations, travel disruptions, and wider logistical issues that could affect the safe participation of athletes, officials, and delegations.
