The European Bowling Federation has announced that the first-ever European
Grand Senior Championships will take place in Vienna, Austria, from January 30
to February 8, 2026. The event will welcome athletes aged 65 and above to
compete at the highest level of senior European bowling.
A total of 182 participants, including 94 men, 55 women, and 17 officials, will represent 24 federations across Europe.
The list of participating countries includes Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, and Wales.
The competition will be hosted at Plus Bowling Vienna, a well-known venue that has previously staged major international events such as the European Senior Championships, Youth Championships, and the Championship of Champions.
The lane pattern for the European Grand Senior Championships 2026 will be 41 feet (+/- 1 foot). The final pattern will be confirmed at the Team Managers Meeting.
The championships will begin with practice sessions on January 30, followed by the Opening Ceremony on January 31. Competition days will include Singles, Doubles, Team of Four, All-Event, and Masters events, with medal ceremonies held after each discipline.
The championships will conclude on February 7 with the Masters finals and closing ceremony.
