The 2025 European Bowling Federation Congress has officially concluded in Vienna, confirming the election results for the federation’s leadership positions.
Valgeir Gudbjartsson of Iceland was re-elected as EBF President for a second term, continuing his leadership after first being elected in 2023.
In the Presidium elections, Sue Abela from Malta was elected for a two-year term until 2027, replacing England’s Lisa John, who resigned earlier this year due to health reasons.
Mr. Onder Gurkan of Turkey, nominated by the German Bowling Federation, was re-elected for another four-year term. Mr. Or Aviram of Israel, nominated by the Israel Bowling Federation, was elected to a four-year term running until 2029.
The newly elected Presidium members will join Mr. Marios Nicolaides of Cyprus, who was elected Vice President for four years in 2023, and Mr. Marc Beaufays of Belgium, who was re-elected to the Presidium last year for another four-year term.
Sergey Lisitsyn of russia, whose candidacy drew controversy due to his public support for russia’s war in Ukraine, was not re-elected.
