June 18 was supposed to be just a regular night at summer league. But for one Texas native, and for everyone who witnessed what he did, it became a night to remember.
Dylan Macon, from Ennis, rolled one of the rarest sets in bowling on Thursday night, joining a short list of bowlers who have ever achieved it.
The 33-year-old right-hander fired three straight 300 games during summer league at South Plains Lanes, finishing with a 900 series.
Macon used a Brunswick Infinity Quest Pearl during the historic set.
The 900 series is still awaiting official recognition from the United States Bowling Congress. Once approved, Macon’s achievement would become only the 44th sanctioned 900 series ever recorded.
The last 900 series came earlier this year, when Erik Howard rolled a historic 900 series in Kentucky in February.
The first USBC-certified 900 series was recorded in 1997, when Jeremy Sonnenfeld bowled three straight perfect games in Lincoln, Nebraska.
