Cherie Tan won the 2026 PWBA Lilac City Open on Monday at ABC Gates Bowl in Rochester, ending a title wait that had lasted nearly two years.

The Singapore left-hander defeated Shannon Pluhowsky 225-206 in the championship match. Pluhowsky had already won the PWBA BowlTV Open earlier in the week and was trying to claim another title at ABC Gates Bowl.

The victory gave Tan her sixth career PWBA Tour title, her first since the 2024 PWBA BowlTV Classic, and the $10,000 top prize.

Tan reached the stepladder finals as the No. 1 seed after advancing through the match-play bracket as the highest remaining seed. She built her advantage in the second half of the title match, striking three times from the sixth through eighth frames. Pluhowsky could not match Tan’s strike run and had to settle for second place. She earned $5,000 for her runner-up finish.

Pluhowsky reached the title match from the No. 3 seed. She first defeated qualifying leader Erin McCarthy 235-197, then beat Canada’s Felicia Wong 218-191 in the semifinal.

McCarthy had opened the stepladder with a 190-177 win over Singapore’s New Hui Fen.
