The Brunswick Ballmaster Open continued on Tuesday after Monday’s scheduled break, with two more qualification squads bowled at Tali Bowling Hall.
The day featured a veterans-focused morning squad followed by an afternoon squad that also included a special start for senior players.
Squad 7 Overview
Squad 7 opened the day with several strong scores across the field. Markus Lahti delivered the highest total of the squad, finishing with 1,362 pins over six games. Petteri Salonen followed in second place with 1,312, while Timo Raatikainen placed third at 1,308. Raatikainen also recorded the highest single game of the squad with a score of 263.
The rest of the Squad 7 top ten included Ilkka Savolainen with 1,237, Leo Lahde at 1,229, and Simon Susiluoto with 1,224. Olli Hossi totaled 1,202, followed by Janne Hovilainen at 1,185, Ossi Kuningas at 1,182, and Marko Luukkonen rounding out the top 10 with 1,181.
Squad 8 Overview
The afternoon session, Squad 8, brought a more international lineup to the lanes. Nevertheless, Finland's own Joonas Jähi posted the best score of the squad with a six-game total of 1,393. The result also moved Jähi higher in the overall qualification standings.
Mark Jacobs from the Netherlands adapted well to the conditions and finished second in the squad with 1,358, while Simon Susiluoto placed third with 1,327.
Timo Alho followed closely in fourth place with 1,321. Sami Salin finished in the top 5 and led the senior starters with a total of 1,291, earning the best senior result of the squad and a new Brunswick bowling ball from the organizers.

qualification squads scheduled starting at 2PM local.
18 squads
will be played thoughout qualification. The tournament runs from January 2 to
January 11.
After the qualification rounds, 48 bowlers will advance to the finals. The top 38 players in the overall standings will qualify directly, while the remaining 10 places will be decided through additional qualification paths - early bird and desperado.
