The 2024 Big Bear Bolts English Open bowling tournament wrapped up at Stroud Bowl in Stroud, United Kingdom, after a thrilling finals day on Sunday.
Hometown favorite Brandon Roberts triumphed in the final of the 2024 Big Bear Bolts English Open, defeating Sweden’s Matthias Wetterberg in a closely contested two-game final, with a score of 480 to 452.
Roberts, who finished seventh in the qualification rounds, advanced to the final by defeating Jess Sillis (467-386), Stevie Thornton (532-461), Mark Patrick (491-474), and Paul Moor (506-418) in the head-to-head championship rounds.
The event was also marked by strong performances, including Hadley Morgan’s impressive score of 1504 (250.67 avg.) in the qualification and Rob Thurlby’s perfect game.
Founded in 2006, the English Open is an annual bowling tournament held in the United Kingdom, attracting players from across Europe. This year’s event was sponsored by industrial supplies company Big Bear Bolts.
