On Wednesday, 97 bowlers started their journey for the sixth title of the 2025 PWBA Tour season. Now, just 12 players remain at the 2025 PWBA Anniversary Open following Thursday’s third round of qualifying at The Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley.
Josie Barnes retained her lead after three rounds with a 1,359 block and 18-game total of 4,180.

But the biggest move of the day came from Sweden’s Nora Johansson, who climbed from 27th to second. Johansson scored 255, 290, 242, 243, 221, and 246 for a massive 1,497, which was the best 6-game block of the round.
After taking a short break back home in Sweden following the U.S. Women’s Open, two-hander returned recharged for the Green Bay stop.
“I think going home was like a battery charger,” she said to PWBA representatives after the qualifying round 3. “I went home empty and came back full again, feeling like I can bowl the best after being with friends and family."
Nora's lead after Round 3 is razor-thin, so she’ll need an even stronger performance on Friday. Rocio Restrepo of Colombia is just one pin behind in third at 4,147, followed closely by Lindsay Boomershine with 4,143 and Jillian Martin with 4,092, making it an incredibly tight race.
Anna Andersson, who rolled the first 300 of the competition and cracked the top 10 after Round 2, finished her run in 21st place with a total of 3,998.
England’s Verity Crawley also advanced to the top 12. The right-hander delivered a 1,335 block, including a much-needed 268 in Game 6, for an 18-game total of 4,074 to finish in 11th place.
All 12 remaining players return Friday at 11 a.m. Eastern for the final six-game qualifying block. With only 108 pins separating first and 12th place, the battle for a spot in the finals is wide open.
The top five will then advance to the televised stepladder finals, airing live on CBS Sports Network on Sunday at 7 p.m. Eastern.
All qualifying rounds are streamed live on BowlTV.
