Nooa Vilokkinen of Finland won the XIII International Open City of Torrevieja,
held in Spain.
The Finnish bowler showed consistency throughout
the tournament and secured the €3,000 first-place prize.
In qualification, Vilokkinen placed second with a total of 1,471 over six games, just three pins behind his countryman Teemu Asplund, who led with 1,474.
Entering final step 1 with the top 32 players, Vilokkinen took control by posting 1,061 across four games. He was the only player to surpass 1,000 in this stage, giving him a 138-pin lead.
In final step 2, Vilokkinen extended his advantage to 202 pins, moving into
final step 3 where the last eight players competed in seven round-robin
matches.
Although he won only three matches, Vilokkinen scored
above 200 in all seven games, which was enough to secure the overall victory
without a stepladder final.
Sweden’s Stefan Dew finished in second place, while Norway’s Mathias Reinertsen placed third.
The total prize fund for the tournament was €13,200.
