Jason Sterner Leads 2026 U.S. Open After B-Squad Opening Block

The second squad has completed its opening eight games at the 2026 U.S. Open, and Jason Sterner now leads the event after a strong performance in B-squad.

Bowling on Oil Pattern 1 at Royal Pin Woodland in Indianapolis, Sterner posted 1,834 to take over the overall lead following the first round of qualifying.

Following a very solid run by another fellow Malaysian Rafiq Ismail, Tun Hakim of Malaysia secured second place within B-squad with 1,817. He also scored a first 300 game of the tournament.

Michael Davidson followed with 1,773, tying Ethan Fiore, who also finished the block with 1,773.

Patrick Dombrowski placed fifth with 1,731. A.J. Johnson totaled 1,717 in sixth position, while Tim Foy Jr. added 1,712 to finish in seventh.

Australia's Sam Cooley finished his block with 1,705, David Krol recorded 1,689, and Nick Pate closed out the B-squad top 10 with 1,674.
