Rafiq Ismail Leads 2026 U.S. Open After Squad A Opening Block

The opening eight games of qualifying are complete at the 2026 U.S. Open, and Malaysia's Rafiq Ismail leads the way after Squad A finished its first block at Royal Pin Woodland in Indianapolis.

IBF World Cup 2025 winner Rafiq Ismail rolled a total of 1,765 pins over eight games to set the early pace in the second major of the 2026 PBA Tour season.

Matt Ogle sits in second place with 1,731, followed closely by defending champion EJ Tackett with 1,730.

Kyle Troup holds fourth position with 1,725, while Tyler Boe rounds out the top five with 1,724.

Mitch Hupé finished the block in sixth place with 1,693. Tom Smallwood follows in seventh with 1,688. Jake Peters is eighth with 1,656, Vincent Bellar stands ninth with 1,649, and Ryan Speer and Chris Via share tenth place with 1,646 each.

With Squad A complete, B-squad will take to the lanes at 1 p.m. local time to bowl its eight-game qualifying block on Oil Pattern 1 as the 2026 U.S. Open continues.
