Jason Belmonte Leads Chameleon Championship Top 12 at WSOB XVII

The PBA Chameleon Championship qualifiers are complete at the World Series of Bowling XVII, and the top 12 players have advanced to match play and the televised finals.

After 10 games, Jason Belmonte led the field with a total of 2,318 pins. Darren Tang followed in second place with 2,299, while Jason Sterner secured third with 2,289.

Jakob Butturff finished fourth with 2,274, and Kyle Sherman placed fifth with 2,259. Santtu Tahvanainen took sixth with 2,229, just ahead of Tobias Boerding in seventh with 2,228.

Anthony Simonsen claimed eighth with 2,218, followed by Mitch Hupé in ninth with 2,216. Boog Krol rounded out the top 10 with 2,208.

The final two qualifying spots went to Deo Benard with 2,201 and Riley Woodard with 2,196, both advancing to the next stage.

Just missing the cut was Ryan Barnes, who finished 13th with 2,195, falling short by just one pin.

The World Series of Bowling XVII now shifts to the PBA Scorpion Championship.

Qualifying begins with two rounds scheduled at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. local time. After another 10-game block, the field will again be reduced to the top 12 for match play and finals airing on CBS Sports Network on May 11.

Monday, May 4 – PBA Shark Championship Qualifying

11:00 a.m. – Round 1 (5 games)
5:00 p.m. – Round 2 (5 games)

Tuesday, May 5 – PBA World Championship Advancers Round

9:00 a.m. – Practice
12:00 p.m. – Round 1 (5 games)
5:00 p.m. – Round 2 (5 games)

Wednesday, May 6 – World Championship Match Play

5:00 p.m. – Round 2

Saturday, June 13 – PBA World Championship TV Finals
