Singapore is on its way to Munich for the 2026 IBF World Cup, with the national federation sending eight bowlers to Germany on Friday.

The event will be held at Max Munich Bowling in Brunnthal from October 12–21. It is the first time the IBF World Cup will take place in Europe.

Experienced core for the women's team

Singapore's women's team is made up of Colleen Pee, Cherie Tan, New Hui Fen and Shayna Ng.

Shayna Ng won the 2012 QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup and took singles bronze at the 2025 IBF World Championships in Hong Kong. Last year she also won the PWBA Go Bowling Topeka Open, her third PWBA title.

Her teammate, New Hui Fen, won her second straight PWBA Player of the Year award this PWBA Tour season. She also reached the women's singles final at the 2022 IBF World Cup in Australia, where she took silver, so she will return to finish the job and take the gold.

Cherie Tan and Colleen Pee both reached the women's doubles final at the 2023 IBF World Championships. Tan won gold with her sister Daphne, while Pee took silver with New Hui Fen.

Darren Ong leads the men

The men's team features Darren Ong, Basil Ng, Jomond Chia and Nu'man Syahmi.

Ong is the 2023 IBF men's singles world champion. In 2025, he became the first player from Singapore to win a PBA Tour title, at the World Series of Bowling XVI.

Basil Ng was part of Singapore's men's team at the 2025 IBF World Championships. Nu'man Syahmi made his IBF World Cup debut in 2022.

What comes next

The IBF World Cup official practice and the opening ceremony are scheduled for October 13. The singles competition runs from October 14–17, followed by the team events from October 18–21.

Other nations have also confirmed their teams for Munich, including Sweden, Denmark, Australia, Malaysia and the U.S.
