Savannah Pedersen, daughter of the late Randy Pedersen, has thanked the bowling community for its support in an update on the family’s GoFundMe page.

Addressing Randy’s friends and fans, Savannah said the messages, stories and donations received over the past month had meant a great deal to the family.

“We see every single message, and every heartfelt story shared across the world, and it means the absolute world to both of us right now.”

She described the emotional, mental, physical and financial challenges the family has faced, thanking both friends and strangers for their generosity.

For Randy’s Celebration of Life, the family is asking those attending, and anyone remembering him from afar, to wear red.

“It's a very special color for Dad, and we think it would be a really beautiful tribute to fill the entire day with that energy.”

In the update, Savannah said the family was working on a livestream or video option for people unable to attend in person, with further details to follow.

The family has also created a public Spotify playlist called Stone 8. It includes some of Randy’s favourite songs and others that remind them of him. Fans are welcome to listen and share the link.

“Dad always loved a good hang, with good friends, and good jams.”

The Remembering Randy Pedersen: A Bowling Legend fundraiser supports funeral arrangements and other costs following his death. As of October 19, it had raised $31,148 towards its $35,000 goal, with 226 donations. Bowlers and fans worldwide are welcome to join the fundraiser.

Pedersen, a 13-time PBA Tour champion and longtime television commentator, died last month at the age of 64.
