Qualifying Round 1 is now complete at the 2026 U.S. Open, and Anthony Simonsen has taken over the lead after C-squad finished its eight-game block at Royal Pin Woodland in Indianapolis.
2022 U.S. Open champion Anhony Simonsen rolled 1,871 across eight games to pace C-squad and take over the overall lead from Jason Sterner after qualification round 1. Dom Barrett followed with 1,835 to secure second place after the opening round.
Julian Salinas placed third with 1,767, Traeten Henrichsmeyer was fourth with 1,740, and Matt Sanders completed the top five with 1,726.
Jason Belmonte and DJ Archer each posted 1,723 to share sixth place in the squad. Eric Jones was next with 1,717. Tom Hess added 1,705, and Deo Benard closed out the C-squad top 10 with 1,663.

Qualifying Round 2 will be held on Wednesday, March 4. The B-squad competes at
8 a.m., the C-squad at 1 p.m., and the A-squad at 6 p.m., with each squad
bowling another eight games.
The competition will be held on the second oil pattern of the 2026 U.S. Open.
