The United States Bowling Congress has announced that the USBC SMART program will allocate $8 million in investment earnings to support additional scholarships for youth bowlers.
The funding will be distributed on February 14.
For 2026, USBC SMART will provide a $7 million standard allocation. This matches the largest annual earnings allocation in program history and continues the funding level set since 2022.
In addition, $500,000 will go toward USBC national scholarship programs, including USA Bowling and Junior Gold. Another $500,000 has been approved to support the SMART Pell Grant Match program for the 2025–2026 school year.
Approximately $2.6 million will be awarded as bonus scholarships to 7,996 active SMART recipients. Each of those students will receive a new $328 scholarship added to their account.
Another $1.8 million will be deposited as unassigned funds for providers to distribute in future scholarships. An additional $2.6 million has been set aside for the Pell Grant Match program for the 2026–2027 academic year.
In 2025, USBC SMART processed a record $15.2 million in total scholarship disbursements, surpassing the previous high of $13 million in 2024.
