96 players officially opened the long-awaited 2026 PBA Tour season with the first qualifying block at the PBA Players Championship in Arlington, Texas.
The first six-game round was played on the Viper 37-foot oil pattern.
After advancing through the PTQ on Monday with a ninth-place finish, PBA Regional title winner at the 2023 PBA Emerald Southwest Challenge, Trey Brand carried that momentum into the main field. He claimed first position after six games with a total of 1,501 pins.
Brand averaged 250 and struck on 75 percent of his shots, compared to the 57 percent field average.
Sean Lavery-Spahr sits in second place with 1,494 pins. Mitch Hupé follows in third with 1,466, while DeeRonn Booker is fourth with 1,465. Kyle Troup rounds out the top five with 1,450.
Shawn Maldonado holds sixth place with 1,440. EJ Tackett is seventh with 1,432. Chris Sloan stands in eighth with 1,417. Nick Pate and BJ Moore are tied for ninth and tenth with 1,416 each.
PTQ leader Ben Robinson holds the final spot above the cut with 1,328 pins and a 221 average. Just below the line, Anthony Simonsen sits in 33rd place with the same total.
Four perfect games were scored already by Tim Foy Jr., Brad Miller, Nate Purches, and Jakob Butturff.

The field will be cut to 32 players after a total of 24 qualifying games played over four rounds.
Qualifying continues later today with another six games on the longer Badger 50-foot oil pattern, starting at 9 p.m. CST.
The full qualifying schedule runs from Tuesday, February 17 through Friday, February 20.
The first broadcast of the 2026 PBA Tour season is scheduled for Sunday, February 22 at 4 p.m. Eastern on The CW.
