The Bowl For Ronnie celebrity bowling night has sold out in advance. The event takes place on Thursday, November 12, at PINZ Bowling Center in Studio City, California.
It raises money for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund.
Radio and TV host Eddie Trunk hosts the evening. It starts at 6:30 p.m. Pacific time with open bowling and a VIP pre-party for lane sponsors, celebrities and their guests. Rock musicians and other celebrities then bowl for trophies.
Two teams lead the field
Last year's winning team, Yachtley Crew, is unavailable to defend its title. Two celebrity teams are now set to compete for first place.
The first is the TOOL team. Adam Jones, Justin Chancellor and Danny Carey of TOOL invited Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez of Alice in Chains to join them. The team is now complete with Jeffrey Gordon of Colorado, who placed the winning eBay bid for the last spot. The listing closed at $22,100 on November 2. We covered the auction in our earlier article on Bowl For Ronnie 2026.
The main rival is Trunk's own team. It has Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, Lita Ford, Brent Woods of the Gene Simmons Band, wrestler and Fozzy musician Chris Jericho, and eBay winner Jason Allen of Reno, Nevada.
Other participants include Richie Kotzen of The Winery Dogs, Michael Sweet of Stryper, Jeff Pilson of Foreigner, Simon Wright (Dio, AC/DC) and Danny Koker of the History Channel series Counting Cars.
Where the money goes
All net proceeds from Bowl For Ronnie go to the Dio Cancer Fund. The fund was founded in memory of singer Ronnie James Dio, who died of gastric cancer in 2010. It is a privately funded charity and says it has raised more than $2 million since it started. This is its 16th year.
The event is sold out, but anyone who cannot attend can still donate through the Dio Cancer Fund website.
