Ryan Burton won the PBA ELITE Midwest Regional 1 at Sun Valley Lanes & Games in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Sunday.
Tom Hess took the senior division title.
Both players entered the weekend leading the Midwest Region points standings. It was the Midwest's first stop on the PBA ELITE Regional Tour, which replaced the previous regional schedule this fall with 21 larger events across seven regions.
Burton, a two-handed left-hander from Michigan City, Indiana, was named the Midwest Region's Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year in 2024. In August, he finished third at the same center when Spencer Robarge won the PBA Midwest Open.
The standard division field included 2026 PBA Tour major winners Brandon Bonta and Boog Krol. Two-time U.S. Open champion Francois Lavoie was also in the field.
Burton and Hess both won their first ELITE titles, so the tour still has no repeat champion after 11 events.
Players bowled seven qualifying games on the 37-foot PBA ELITE Short 37 oil pattern.
The top third of each division returned for a four-game advancers round, and the top eight then bowled eight games of round-robin match play. There is no stepladder final.
The title goes to the highest total pinfall after 19 games, including bonus pins earned in match play.
The event was broadcast live on Bowling TV.
