Kevin McCune Leads After Two Qualification Rounds at 2025 PBA Tournament of Champions

The PBA Tournament of Champions powered by 1800 Tequila is heating up at the historic AMF Riviera Lanes in Fairlawn, Ohio. Kevin McCune, riding high after a stunning run at the 2025 PBA Players Championship, now leads the TOC after two qualifying rounds.

McCune averaged an impressive 245 for 12 games, totaling 2,940 pins.

Behind him are two former TOC champions from Europe. England’s Dominic Barrett sits in second with a 2,903 total, and Sweden’s Jesper Svensson is third with 2,877. Matt Zweig, who qualified through the pre-tournament qualifiers on Monday, is currently fourth, while 2023 Storm Lucky Larsen Masters champion AJ Johnson rounds out the top five.

EJ Tackett, currently in sixth, is aiming to become just the second player in PBA history to win three major titles in one season.  Also sitting inside the current top 24 are Denmark’s Thomas Larsen (13th), Finland’s “Major” Mika Koivuniemi (14th), and Ethan Fiore, who won last week’s PBA Players Championship, in 16th.

What’s Next

The third and final qualifying round takes place today. After that, the top 24 players move on to round-robin match play, with the top 9 advancing to the stepladder finals.

The 5th through 9th ranked players will compete in a prelims stepladder round on FS1 this Saturday. The winner of that match will face the top four players in the championship round on FOX on Sunday.

Thursday, April 17 • 11 a.m. – Match Play Round 2 (8 games) • 6 p.m. – Match Play Round 3 (8 games)

Top 9 players advance to stepladder finals. Players ranked 5th–9th compete in the prelims; 1st–4th go directly to the championship round.

Friday, April 18 • 5 p.m. – PBA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Saturday, April 19 • 5 p.m. – Prelims Round (Stepladder Finals), Live on FS1

Sunday, April 20 • 3 p.m. – Championship Round (Stepladder Finals), Live on FOX
