PBA Sweden has announced that its Super Regional will take place on January 28–31, 2027.
The news comes after the launch of the PBA ELITE Regional Tour left bowlers wondering what would happen to events outside the United States.
BowlingLife asked PBA CEO Peter Murray for an update. He confirmed that the PBA will continue to support international events.
“PBA will continue to support International events. In 2027 PBA will be rolling out long term plans to drive international growth.”
The 2025/26 PBA Sweden season included three regional stops: Wolf Nässjö, Viper Malmö and Shark Stockholm. It ended with Storm Lucky Larsen Masters in August 2026, which awarded a national PBA Tour title.
The new PBA ELITE Regional Tour has 21 events across seven regions in the U.S. this autumn. It offers a route to the Regional Players Invitational (RPI), where bowlers will compete for three Priority Status places on the 2027 PBA Tour. Another four places will be available through the PBA Combine.
“PBA Elite is focused on increasing the quality of competition, identifying the next generation of PBA National Tour players, expanding visibility and access for fans, and providing players with higher stake regional tournaments/prize funds,” Murray said.
