For the second consecutive season, New Hui Fen has won the 2026 PWBA Player of the Year
award.
Singaporean also claimed the
PWBA High Average Award with a season average of 217.52.
New is the first foreign player to win consecutive Player of the Year awards and only the fifth bowler in PWBA history to retain the honor, joining Leanne Hulsenberg, Wendy Macpherson, Liz Johnson and Shannon O’Keefe.
This season, New Hui Fen cashed in all 11 events and led the tour with 97,450 points, six championship-round appearances, seven match-play appearances and eight top-12 finishes. Her victory at the PWBA Northern Colorado Open was her only title of the season, while her $71,745 in earnings ranked fourth.
“Player of the Year is the ultimate goal, but the High Average Award is an excellent validator,” New said. “It means I didn’t just have a few hot weeks but that I was consistent from start to finish.”
After winning three titles during her 2025 Player of the Year campaign, New increased her top-12 finishes from five to eight and her championship-round appearances from four to six in 2026.
New Hui Fen now holds six career PWBA titles, including two majors, alongside her two Player of the Year awards.
