The 53rd Brunswick Ballmaster Open 2023 was conducted in Helsinki, Finland, during 6 – 15 January 2023. In total of 500 athletes have attended and only four of them made the cut to the televised final four.
In the first semi-final Kim Bolleby form Sweden, who recently won the AIK International Open in, won against Nicola Pongolini from Italy by the result 204 vs 181.
In the second semi-final another Swede Jesper Svensson had a tough game against Santtu Tahvanainen from Finland. The game ended by the result 218 vs 228 in favour of Jesper Svensson, who was appointed as the best male bowler in Sweden for the forth time in January this year.
The final game was a true spectacle for the fans - two top European bowling masters against each other. Jesper Svensson once again proved his nickname the 'Ice Man' showing cool nerves during the whole final match against Kim Bolleby and took Brunswick Ballmaster Open champion title and 10.000 euro prize for the second time in his career by the result 267 vs 212.
After two of sixteen stops of EBF's European Bowling Tour Verity Crawley, England, and Kim Bolleby, Sweden, are in the top of the Women's and Men's Ranking. The next EBT event will be Bowl for Fun Open, which will be hosted in Germany in May.
