Finland's Santtu Tahvanainen made the Shark Championship finals

After 20 games of qualification, we have the five best players at the World Series of Bowling XIV Shark Championship at Bowlero Wauwatosa, Milwaukee.

American's Matt Ogle, Packy Hanrahan, Anthony Simonsen, Finland's Santtu Tahvanainen, and Australia's Sam Cooley will meet in the PBA Shark Championship finals on Wednesday, April 20 at 1 am CET on FS1.

Finland's Santtu Tahvanainen, the reigning PBA Rookie of the Year, earned back-to-back championship round appearances, as he made the Scorpion Championship finals as well, alongside Sweden's Jesper Svensson last week. With only two games remaining, Tahvanainen sat in 10th place. Finn then shot a 290 in to leap into the top five.

The 26-year-old from Finland excelled in the Scorpion and Shark pattern as he had to move further to the left on the bowling lane. He said he learned to perform this skill last year on the PBA Tour.

'I always like to hook the ball,' Santtu Tahvanainen said. 'It's definitely my strength to be more left than anyone else because then I can see a clear picture on the ball. So it's not hooking too early, it's hooking on a spot I want the ball to.'

The end of the Shark Championship qualifications closed the sixty-game qualifiers of the World Championships. Two Europeans - Santtu Tahvanainen and Jesper Svensson - made it to the top 12 of the PBA WSOB XIV World Championship.

A PBA WSOB XIV World Championship winner will be awarded the season's fourth Major and a prize fund of $100,000.
