EJ Tackett has secured the 2024 Chris Schenkel PBA Player of the Year award, marking his second consecutive win and third overall.
Tackett previously won the prestigious title in 2016 and 2023, joining an elite group of players - Jason Belmonte, Walter Ray Williams Jr., Earl Anthony and Mark Roth - who have earned the award three or more times. Tackett is also the seventh player to claim back-to-back titles in this category.
During the 2024 season, Tackett won two titles, including the PBA World Championship. He led the PBA Tour in points (29,920), earnings ($265,792), and average (229.37), narrowly missing the single-season average record set by Belmonte in 2017.
Tackett earned 67.50% of the Player of the Year votes, with Anthony Simonsen finishing second and Marshall Kent third. Other nominees included Bill O’Neill, Kyle Troup, Matt Russo, Sweden's Jesper Svensson, and David Krol.
The Chris Schenkel PBA Player of the Year award honors the legacy of its namesake, Chris Schenkel, a Hall of Fame broadcaster and voice of the PBA for over 30 years.
