The European Bowling Federation (EBF) has announced the launch of a new championship for players aged 65 and older. The European Grand Senior Championships will be added to the official EBF championship program and will take place every two years in even-numbered years.

The first edition of the tournament is set to be held in Vienna from 30 January to 8 February 2026.

This decision follows discussions at the latest EBF Presidium meeting, where officials finalized plans to introduce a competition similar to the senior championships at the International Bowling Federation (IBF) level.

Meanwhile, the European Senior Championships, which cater to bowlers aged 50 and older, will continue as planned in odd-numbered years (2025, 2027, etc.).

With this new addition, the EBF aims to provide more competitive opportunities for senior bowlers across Europe.
