Longtime bowler and PBA Tour representative Dino Castillo has taken a position with Lucky Strike Entertainment and will not work as a ball rep next year, he said in a Facebook post.
Castillo will join the company's league acquisition and tournament coordinator department.
Lucky Strike Entertainment is the parent company of the PBA.
Castillo has been a bowler and tour rep for more than 20 years. Since 2021, he worked solely as a tour rep for the PBA Tour, and he recently worked the PWBA Tour as well.
In his new role, he said, "I will be in the league acquisition and tournament coordinator department, so I will continue to help people." He added that his goal is to grow the sport. "The only difference is that I'm going to try to do everything I can to grow our sport on a much larger scale."
Castillo said the position is one he had wanted for a long time. After his friend Jim Welch passed away, he wanted to take over Welch's position and continue his passion. Castillo called Welch the main reason he began running tournaments and youth tournaments.
