About the Tournament

The English Open 2026 is a European Bowling Tour event running from 2 to 11 October 2026 at Stroud Bowl in Stroud, England. It is Stop 08 of the EBT calendar, carries Bronze status and is open to bowlers from across Europe and beyond who want ranking points and a strong prize list on English lanes.

Organiser and venue

The tournament is organised by Mark Patrick in cooperation with the European Bowling Federation. Stroud Bowl sits inside the Five Valleys Shopping Centre in the Gloucestershire town of Stroud, so food, shops and hotels are within walking distance of the centre.

Format and squads

Play is spread over several squads across the ten days, with first entries, re-entries and a Desperado option. Bowlers pick a squad time through the online entry system, and the deadline is 30 minutes before the squad starts. Check the official event page for the full squad schedule and the stepladder or finals details, as the organisers may adjust them.

Prizes

The published prize fund is about GBP 27,300, roughly €32,000. The winner receives GBP 4,000, around €4,700, and prizes then step down through the top eight, with smaller bands paid down to 40th place. Side events and bonus awards, where offered, are separate from this main fund.

Entry fees

A first entry costs between GBP 80 and GBP 140, roughly €95 to €165, depending on the squad. The lowest price applies to squad 09-11 and the highest to squads 17-19. Re-entries cost GBP 60 to GBP 110, roughly €71 to €130. The Desperado fee is not published at the time of writing.
